On October 8, 2019, the Ministry of Economy and industry held a conference with experts from the World Bank and representatives of the ministry and other interested parties on the implementation of the project «prosperous villages of Uzbekistan». Within the framework of the project, about 400 villages of Andijan, Namangan, Fergana, Jizzakh and Syrdarya regions, including the village of Sukhil, Pakhtaabad District of Andijan region.
Shamshod Yunusov, a representative of the NGO community Taraqqiyot and Support Center for Development, spoke in detail about the project: «since June of this year, we have begun to participate in a major project in cooperation with the World Bank and the Ministry of Economy and industry. Within the framework of the project, the village of Sukhil of Pakhtaabad district was selected. The harsh conditions of the area were taken into account. It should be noted that during the events, the consideration of issues related to the full coverage of public feedback and the development of their rural infrastructure was taken into account. According to our observations, water shortages, electricity issues, internal road cover and the need for additional schools were identified by rural residents. The project will be launched in 2020,» he says.
In addition, the resource map of the village of Sukhil, developed by the residents of the village, was presented by Oybek Tadjiboev, Secretary of the neighborhood Citizens ‘ Assembly.
A number of other infrastructure developments are also expected to be carried out in rural areas by 2024.
